Good evening girls,
Here I am finally, done with the tedious box I have been working on since past 2 weeks. Had a wooden chocolate box lying around which i wanted to use since quite some time . As Mother's Day is approaching and so is the deadline for ItsyBitsy logo challenge, I wanted to create something which I can showcase in all the challenges. Working with hand molding can be tricky at times plus it needs a lot of time to dry..
Let me show you the first step to it--
After rubbing the box with sandpaper, I applied a layer of Plaster of Paris and glue on it to give it a rough texture. After letting it dry overnight the next step is to colour it. I used glass colours for the same as i like the transparent glass look it gives. Used green and blue colours from the ItsyBitsy logo. Again let it dry overnight.
Next step is making the flowers, I use white Mseal for flowers because it is quite sturdy.
Once the flowers are shaped the next step is to arrange and fix them using the hot glue gun.
Placed all the blooms flat on the box but I wanted the butterfly to be a lil elevated so stuck it on a wire and fixed it at a hight, love the way it flutters everytime it moves.
Once the flowers are placed next comes the part of colouring it, this was quite challenging as the colour options were few.
My favourite flutter bug from different angles.
Some more close-ups.
The full view.
This adorns my Corner table for few days till i gift it to my MOM who COLOURS MY WORLD.
The last and the final one :)
Just cant get enough of it..Hope you all like it..
